funny how

in understanding

bother us so much

we try to fill them,

try to make sense of them,

try to explain them

lots of them are in our origins

where did we come from?

where did anything come from?

well, right now?

we really don’t know

and we don’t know how to find out

here we have a gap

and we might all fill it in different ways

with speculative science, with stories, with gods

and because it is a gap

we don’t have much to prove the theories with

unless the story is logically flawed,

we can’t really say it’s not an option

we end up with a lot of theories that could make sense

a lot of gap-sized pieces to fill the space

if they all do the job,

maybe it doesn’t matter which we use

and if we can’t know which are correct,

maybe none of them are correct at all
